Polyethylene adhesive tape is an anti-corrosion material made by combining a polyethylene substrate with an adhesive layer. The substrate is typically a calendered, roughened film made from high- or low-density synthetic polyethylene. The adhesive layer uses a butyl rubber-modified asphalt anti-corrosion adhesive.
It is primarily categorized into anti-corrosion tape (inner tape), protective tape (outer tape), joint wrapping tape, and a series of matching primers. The thickness range is between 0.40mm and 2.00mm, and the applicable temperature range is generally from -34°C to +75°C. This material features excellent adhesive sealing properties, UV resistance, high tensile strength, and aging resistance. It is widely used for external anti-corrosion on steel pipelines in petroleum, natural gas, and urban gas distribution networks. It is also suitable for external surface anti-corrosion of buried metal pipelines in chemical, water supply and drainage, and gas transmission applications.
